Belmond Grand Hibernian

Belmond selected Mivan to complete the fit out of the Grand Hibernian. All ten carriages arrived at Mivan to complete fit out at our 110,000sq. ft. facility. This helped Belmond meet needs as explained by Gary Franklin, Managing Director of Belmond Trains & Cruises. We must work with “local experts and craftsman to create a truly authentic train. That reflects the spirit of the countries through which it will travel.”

Belmond Grand Hibernian launched in August 2016. Offering 2, 4 and 6 night itineraries from Dublin through the most scenic parts of the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Belmond operates some of the world’s most famous trains. Including the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express and Belmond Royal Scotsman. It purchased 10 carriages and locomotive for the Grand Hibernian from Irish Rail in 2015.

Mivan won the project to refurbish these carriages. To include 20 stylish en-suite cabins, two dining cars and an observation car. All design, manufacturing and fit out completed at our world-class production facility. The interior design of the carriages reflects Dublin’s Georgian Architecture. With the inspiration taken from the Irish landscape.
