Freedom of the Seas
Back to MarineMivan, the marine outfitting specialist, completed the Front of House (FoH) public areas refurbishment and refit works on Freedom of the Seas by Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines (RCCL).
Project was uniquely challenging due to the short dry dock period and the large scope of works spread across three decks and sixteen different areas. Mivan worked with RCCL throughout, from the concept creation, detailed design to manufacturing and installation.
Due to the scale the project team consisted of four hundred onboard resources undertaking both day and night shift. Including preconstruction time, the working hours spent on the project exceeded 180,000. Scope of works included outfitting bespoke joinery in sports bars, speciality restaurants, children’s area, teenage area, arcades and games areas, sports deck, outer deck, and leisure areas.
To complete the project in just twenty-five days, when in dry dock, the planning and management was meticulous to successfully ensure delivery on time. At the time of completion this is Mivan’s largest marine outfitting project.
