Mivan has various opportunities available to help you start your career. We are proud of the fact that a number of our senior personnel began their career as a Mivan Apprentice, Graduate or Trainee.
We provide excellent training, coaching and mentoring and the opportunity to develop invaluable skills and personal growth. We work in partnership with local schools, colleges, universities and training providers to maximise apprenticeship, work placement, graduate and trainee opportunities and advertise opportunities widely through various recruitment channels including local and province-wide press, on-line and the job centre.
Whether you are a school leaver, graduate or interested in gaining some work experience our early career programmes offer an opportunity to build a rewarding career.
The Mivan Apprenticeship Programme was launched over 15 years ago in partnership with local training organisations. The programme aims to provide Apprentices with education, training and development in an open, controlled, safe and professional environment.
The Apprenticeship Programme involves a 4 year structured training programme including both on and off-the-job training. The trainees undertake NVQ levels 2 and 3 in Wood Occupations or Metal Fabrication.
The apprentices receive intensive training ranging from the manufacture of conventional and specialised joinery and metal products to shopfitting and site work. Training is provided by local colleges, Mivan management and an in-house mentoring programme.
Apprentice opportunities are usually advertised from April to June.

At Mivan we look for graduates and trainees of the highest calibre who are skilled, ambitious and motivated, who share Mivan’s values and have the potential to take on challenging responsibilities and make a significant contribution to the business.
We offer graduate and trainee opportunities in a range of disciplines including design, quantity surveying, estimating, production, site/project management and project planning.
We recognise that entering the workforce can be daunting and a steep learning curve so we offer great support with a mentoring system to coach, train and develop.
Graduate and Trainee opportunities are usually advertised between April and August.

Year Out and summer placements are an excellent way to gain industry experience and find out what a career in Mivan is all about.
We offer undergraduates the opportunity to spend a year or a summer with us assisting a number of our teams including design, production, quantity surveying, estimating or project management.
Also school leavers may wish to spend a summer with us before deciding which career route is right for them. Whether it is assisting in the Factory to help decide if a Joinery Apprenticeship is right for you or assisting our operations, support or admin teams to gain some valuable experience and insight we have plenty of options available.
Our students benefit from skills development, personal growth and a vastly increased knowledge of the working environment and career options. Also if we are impressed with your performance during a placement we may be in a position to invite you back as a Graduate or Trainee.
